Answer: The actual distance between them is 750 miles.

Explanation:

We are given that ,

On a map, 2 inches represents 300 miles.

We know that the map is a similar design of an actual place.

So the length on map and the actual distance should be proportional.

Two points are separated by 5 miles on the map .

Let the actual distance be x.

By Equation of proportionality , we have

(x)/(5)=(300)/(2)

(x)/(5)=150

x=150*5=750

Therefore , the actual distance between them is 750 miles.
