Value of "a" is 10

Solution:

Given that we have to solve the given proportion

(3)/(5) = (a + 5)/(25)

Let us solve the proportion

Multiply the numerator of the left-hand fraction by the denominator of the right-hand fraction

Multiply the numerator of the right-hand fraction by the denominator of the left-hand fraction

Set the two products equal to each other

Solve for the variable

(3)/(5) = (a + 5)/(25)

3 * 25 = 5 * (a + 5)\\\\75 = 5a + 25\\\\5a = 75 - 25\\\\5a = 50\\\\a = (50)/(5)\\\\a = 10

Thus value of a is 10
