Answer: x = 41.22 and 38.78

Explanation:

Given the equation

4x² - 40x + 94 = 0

Using the general formula

x = -b+/-√b²-4ac/2a

Where a = 4, b= -40 c= 94

x = -(-40)+/-√(-40)²-4(4)(94)/2(4)

x = 40+/-√1600-1504/8

x = 40 +/-√96/8

x = 40 +/-9.8/8

x = 40+/-1.22

x= 40+2.22 = 41.22

and x = 40 -1.22

x = 38.78
