I would start by distributing 0.5 into 4y and 6 which would equal 2y+3, now you have 2y+3+4=25, add the 3 and 4 which is 7, you have 2y+7=25, subtract 7 from both sides so you have 2y=18, then lastly divide 2 by both sides so you will get y=9
