Explanation: Hyperbilirubinemia is a clinical diagnosis of neonatal jaundice which is the yellowish staining of the skin and sclera of the eye. Jaundice can be physiological or pathological. In a case of physiological jaundice, it can disappear without treatment but pathological jaundice will require treatment. Pathological jaundice occur earlier than physiological jaundice.
