Donald can feed 61 animals approximately

Solution:

Given that Donald has
45(1)/(2) pounds of grain to feed his farm animals

Each animal eats
(3)/(4) of a pound of feed

To find: number of animals he can feed

From given information,

Total pounds of grains =
45(1)/(2) = (2 * 45 +1)/(2) = (91)/(2) \text{ pounds }

One animal feeds =
(3)/(4) \text{ pounds }

number of animals he can feed = Total pounds of grains divided by one animal feeds

\rightarrow ((91)/(2))/((3)/(4))=(91)/(2) * (4)/(3)=(91 * 2)/(3)=(182)/(3)=60.66

Thus he can feed 61 animals approximately
