There are 40 dogs at the humane society waiting for adoption. Most of the dogs have black fur. Some of the dogs have neither black or brown fur. If 26 of the dogs have black fur, and 8 of the dogs have brown fur, what fraction of the dogs have neither black or brown fur?

Answer:3/20.

Explanation:

Number neither brown or black = 40 - 26 - 8 = 6.

So its 6/40 = 3/20.

Answer:

6/40

Explanation:

26 + 8 = 34

34 dogs have black or brown fur

40 - 34 = 6

6 dogs have neither black nor brown fur

6 out of 40 or 6/40 dogs have neither black nor brown fur

Hope this helps!
