If 15% off an item cost 36.21 then what would 100% of the item be?

Formula = ( 1 - (decimal) = Number for step 2

so 1 - .15 = .85

Step 2. Divide the sales price by the new number we have!

Formula = (sales price) ÷ (the number you get from formula 1)

so $36.21 divided by .85 = $42.60!

To check your work do 42.60 x 0.15 = 6.39 then subtract

do 42.60 - 6.39 and you get 36.21!
