Answer: The slave trade

Step-by-step explanation:

The slave trade is the movement of people against their will from their homes to a foreign land. This form of trafficking in persons occur in the 16th to 19th century in America's, It started as a result of the establishment of plantation farming in America's by the Europeans who had established their colonies in the west indies.at that time, When the Europeans established their plantation in their colonies they were at first making use of the local people to work on their plantation, but they discovered that the plantation farming is a farming that is done in a harsh condition in which the local people find it very difficult to survive the harsh condition of the farm. As a result of this many of them do die when they are working on the plantation.

The other factors that made the Europeans plantation owners turned to the use of African slaves on their plantation is that the plantation farming required a lot of human effort which the African slaves can supply, in addition, they also discovered that the African slaves are stronger than the local people they were using before and that they can survive the harsh condition of working on the plantation. The other factors which increases the demand for the use of African slaves is that during this time in Europe there was an increase in demand for sugar in European market. Therefore in order to ensure that the plantation meet up with the demand for sugar in Europe there was need to use a lot of African slaves to ensure an uninterrupted supply of sugar to the European market, because sugar plantation requires a large number of people to plant, maintain and harvest. These factors mentioned above led to the expansion of slave trade

Answer:

Because more workers were needed for plantations as Europeans expanded their holdings in the Americas, the Slave Trade also expanded.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Slave trade started in America due to many factors such as scarcity of people to do the domestic work.
  • As it is stated above that when the number of Europeans living in the America increased, then their houses and holding increased as a result. So, they needed more people for their work and that resulted in the demand of slaves. So, the trade of people from poor colonies increased in order to fulfill the needs of the Europeans.
