What do you do if the gun is submerged in water when you collect it?

the finger prints should still be on there if it wasn’t in the water for long. If it was in there for a long time they could possibly find a barcode to the gun

Fingerprints are still recoverable for long lengths of time, about 6 weeks, so you would still have the fingerprint ( no DNA profiling ) so you would likely be fine if it wasn't there for long.
