Answer:

Freedomride charges $(20 + 0.04 D) for driving D miles than Envocar.

Explanation:

Here, according to the given question:

By Envocar Cab Services:

The fixed Charge = $50.50

The charge per mile = 8 cents = 0.08 dollars

So, the charges of D miles = D x ( Cost per mile) = D x ($0.08) = 0.08 D

Now, the TOTAL CAB CHARGE = FIXED charge + Charge for D miles

= $50.50 + 0.08 D

⇒ For D miles, Envocar charges $50.50 + 0.08 D ..... (1)

By Freedomride Cab Services:

The fixed Charge = $70.50

The charge per mile = 12 cents = 0.12 dollars

So, the charges of D miles = D x ( Cost per mile) = D x ($0.12) = 0.12 D

⇒ For D miles, Freedomride charges $70.50 + 0.12 D ..... (2)

Now, the difference in the charge rate of Envocar and Freedomride is:

Charge of D miles by (Freedomride - Envocar)

= $70.50 + 0.12 D - ($50.50 + 0.08 D) = 20 + 0.04 D

Hence, freedomride charges $(20 + 0.04 D) for driving D miles than Envocar.
