Terri buys five and seven eighths ounces of chocolate chips. She uses four and four sixths ounces in a recipe. How many ounces of chocolate chips does she have left?

Explanation:

terri has 5/8 to start with and uses 4/6.

you want to convert both to the same divisor

5/8 x 6/6 = 30/48

4/6 x 8/8 = 32/48

these are the same values still

now subtract the correct one from the other and simplify.
