Differentiate between mixtures and compounds. include at least 2 differences plus which can be pure and which has a definite ratio

Compounds :

  • Compounds are pure substances formed by two or more molecules of same or different types in a definite proportion.

  • Compounds are chemically bonded substances

  • It's components can't be separated by any physical means

  • Compounds have different characteristics than its constituent particles

Eg.
\sf {H_2O, \:H_2SO_4,\: C_6H_(12)O_6, \:etc}

Mixture :

  • Mixtures are impure substances formed by two or more substances not having definite proportion at all

  • These substances aren't generally chemically bonded

  • It's components can be separated by physical means

  • Mixture shows characteristics same as it's constituent particles

Eg. Sand, Air, Alloys, etc
