Answer:the stored energy is in form of carbohydrates stored in photosynthetic plants. This is consumed by higher organisms such as man & animals. In these higher organisms, the energy in form of ATP is used for work & activities. Other higher organisms then feed on smaller once such that energy is transferred within the ecosystem. Some of this energy is also lost in the form of heat because the conversion process is not 100% efficient. There is therefore energy balance in the ecosystem.
