Answer:

m = 0.75

Explanation:

Since (m, 2m + 1 ) is a solution of the equation then substituting the values into the equation will make it true, that is

substitute x = m and y = 2m + 1 into the equation, thus

4m + 2(2m + 1) = 8 ← distribute and simplify left side

4m + 4m + 2 = 8

8m + 2 = 8 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

8m = 6 ( divide both sides by 8 )

m =
(6)/(8) =
(3)/(4) = 0.75
