The Picture to the left is the Great Wall of China, built by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shihuangdi. It was a project whose purpose was fending off several nomadic threats coming from--in general--Central Asia and North of Central Asia. It also served as protection for the Silk Road from unwanted merchants.
