that would make it $ 140

a 10% tip......its the same thing as multiplying by 0.1

and when u multiply any number by 0.1 ur actually starting at the decimal ( or the end of the number) and move one space to the left.

examples :

10% of 245 = 24.5

10% of 5010 = 501

10% of 76 = 7.6

10% of 88.5 = 8.85 .....if there is a decimal, start at the decimal

so.....10% of 140

start at the end of the number and move 1 space to the left...
