now,

x=3y-equation (i)

then,

x-y=14

or,3y-y=14

or,2y=14

or,y=14/2

:. y=7

at last,putting value of y in equation(i)

x=3y

or,x=3x7

or,x=21

Therefore, Madhu's age is 21 and Sanku's age is 7
