According to conflict theories gender inequality exists due to the unpaid housework. Unpaid housework which is through history mostly atributed to women, gives men unfain advantage as breadwinners and career-makers. This situation has been improving in the recent years.

Erasing unpaid housework would have results like involving women more in the public sphere and have them participating in the labor market. This affects the whole society, children and families.

For conflict theories, if gender equality is achieved, women would benefit greatly, while men would have to improve their importance on the labor market and in the public sphere. It would lead to dissapearance of gender segregation and to a more equal society.
