Answer: y=4x-10

Step 1: Write model equation

The model equation for slope- intercept form is y=mx+b

M-Slope
X-Variable
B- Y-intercept

Step 2: Slope

Since we know that m is slope, we can substitute the slope given (1/4) into the equation

y=mx+b

y=4x+b

Step 3: Y-intercept

The final thing we have to do is solve for the y-intercept, or b. We’ll do this by substituting the point into the equation and solving.

y=4x+b

*substitute point*

6=4(4)+b

*multiply 4 and 4*

6=16+b

*subtract 16 on both sides*

-10=b

Step 4: Check your answer

We will check our answer by substituting all the values into the equation and seeing if the left and right side equal each other

y=mx +b

6=4(4)-10

6=16-10

6=6

This is correct! Hope this helps comment below for more questions :)
