Answer:

substitute x for -5

f(-5)=|-5+1|

f(-5)=|-4|

however, absolute value is the distance from 0 and so is always positive since you cannot have negative distance.

so f(-5)=4

Explanation:

f(x) = I x+1 I ​

when x = -5

f(-5) = I (-5) +1 I

= I -5+1 I ​

= |-4|

= 4
