Hypotenuse^2 = opposite side^2 + adjacent side^2

Looking at the triangle,

Opposite side = 13 miles

Adjacent side = 16 miles

Hypotenuse^2 = 13^2 + 16^2 = 425

Hypotenuse = √425 = 20.62 miles
