Explanation:

2 cans to be equally shared by 5, that means everybody gets 2/5 of a can of paint.

5 boxes of crayons shared by 2 friends, so each gets 5/2 boxes.

2 packages of paper for 5 children, so each gets 2/5 of a package.

5 balls of yarn for 2 sisters, so each gets 5/2 balls.

for such questions it is always : how much is there in total divided by how many parts are needed.

that gives you how much of the total goes to every part.
