Rani bought a new field that is next to one she already owns (Fig.). This field is in the shape of a square of side 70m. She makes a semi circular lawn of maximum area in this field. (i) Find the perimeter of the lawn. (ii) Find the area of the square field excluding the lawn.

Answer:

1 = 440

2 = 4900cm^{2}

Explanation:

square = 280cm perimeter and
4900cm^(2) area

semi circle would have radius = 70cm

perimeter of semi circle =
(pi X diameter)/(2)

pi x (70x2) = 440cm

but if its with the square it would be 650cm
