to fill out the table you need to put values of x into the equation. when you have 1 equation, you can solve for 1 variable, 2 equations: 2 variables...ect.

here there are 2 variables, but they give you the value of 1 so you can solve for the other.

y=10x-3

when x is -1, 0, 1, and 5

-----when x= -1

y=10x-3

y=10(-1) -3

y= -10 -3

y= -13

-----when x= 0

y=10x-3

y=10(0) -3

y=0 -3

y= -3

-----when x= 1

y=10x-3

y=10(1) -3

y=10-3

y=7

-----when x= 5

y=10x-3

y=10(5) -3

y=50 -3

y=47
