c = 12.1 cm

For this question, use the Pythagorean theorem.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Where a and b are the triangle's legs, and c is the hypotenuse.

(It doesn't matter what values you use for each for a and b)

a = 5 cm

b = 11 cm

c = ?

5^2 + 11^2 = c^2

25 + 121 = c^2

146 = c^2

square root both sides

√146 = √c^2

c = 12.08304 cm

But we need to the neasrest tenth then....

c = 12.1 cm
