Eli is now one quarter of his father’s age. In 5 years’ time his age will be one third of

his father’s age. How old is Eli now?

F - (4/3)F = (4/3)*5 - 20

-(1/3)F = (20/3) - (60/3)

-(1/3)F = (-40/3)

F = (120/3)

F = 40 years

E = 10 years (based on E = (1/4)F)
