Question:-

Write an equation to determine the unknown side. Then solve the equation

Given:-

  1. Right angle triangle
  2. Hypotenuse = 12
  3. Base = 4

Answer:-

To Find:- Perpendicular = x

Formula:- Pythagoras theorem

hypotenuse ² = perpendicular ² + base ²

h² = p² + b²

12²= x² + 4²

144 = x² + 16

144-16 = x²

128 = x²

✓128 = x = 11.3

So ATQ :- Round to the nearest tenth.

Your answer :- perpendicular = x = 11

so sides of triangle are

  1. hypotenuse = h = 12
  2. perpendicular = x = 11
  3. base = b = 4
