The perimeter of a square is 3 and 1/8 inches. What is the length of each side of the square?

Alright so, the perimeter of the square is 3 1/8 inches. And we also know all the sides of a square are equal.

The equation for solving perimeter is 2x+2y=perimeter. (Whereas x and y are the length and widths). But since a square has all of its sides equal, we could simply multiply all sides by 4:

4x=3 1/8

x=25/32
