Explanation:

2/3x+1=1/6x-7 . Get a common denominator

4/6x+1=1/6x-7 . Minus 1/6x on both sides

3/6x+1=-7 minus 1 on both sides

3/6x=-8 simplify the fraction

1/2x=-8 multiply both sides with 1/2

x=-4
