If a plant is not green (does not contain chlorophyll) can it do photosynthesis? why or why not?

No, it cannot carry out photosynthesis because the plant will not be able to absorb light as it does not have chlorophyll.

Explaination:

Chlorophyll in plants is used for absorbing energy from light. And, in photosynthesis, light/sunlight is one of the main factors needed, so as the plant cannot absorb light, photosynthesis can't take place.
