A recycling plant is a factory for processing used or abandoned materials. The different types of recycling plants include those that process glass, metals, and paper back into raw materials. Other plants focus on items that require complicated recycling processes, such as concrete, electronic equipment and various plastics.

Electromagnets are used to lift and manoeuvre the crushed up ferrous materials or again to extract them from a pile of scrap. Ferrous materials are heavy and sharp but with the strength of the electromagnets they can be lifted and moved around with ease.
