I got about half way through the problem but I ddont know hiw to solve the rest :\

solve the radical equation.

√(x + 3) - 1 = x

The answer is x = 1

Hope this helps! :)

(sqrt) x + 3 = x + 1

x + 3 = x^2 + 2x + 1

x + 3 - x^2 - 2x - 1 = 0

-x + 2 - x^2 = 0

x^2 + x - 2 = 0

(x - 1) (x + 2) = 0

x = 1, -2

^^no negatives/canceled

x = 1
