Explanation:

first step is to define the line, and then, secondly find the right direction of the inequality.

we see a few nice points with integer coordinates.

the one on the y-axis is particularly helpful (0, 1), as it gives up the y- intercept right away (1).

another point is (1, 3).

so, the slope is

x changes by +1 (from 0 to 1)

y changes by +2 (from 1 to 3)

so the slope is 2/1 = 2

that means our equation is

y = 2x + 1

the graph says that the inequality is everything bigger than the line value, and the line is not included (dashed line).

so, we get

y > 2x + 1
