Ok here is the fastest way to do this:

Since M is the midpoint of AB, and the x-value of M is smaller than A, this means that M is to the left of A.

Subtract x-value of M from x-value of A: 6 - 4 = 2

We know that B is also to the left of M. So you subtract 2 from the x-value of M: 4 - 2 = 2

Notice that of the choices below, only one answer has the x-value of 2.
