so the side are 1-1-√2

so if one of the side is 3, you multiply the above by 3

1*3-1*3-√2*3

therefore, a=3√2

Second triangle

this is a 30-60-90 Triangle

so the sides are x-x√2-2x

for this triangle

x√2=6

x=6/√2 --> multiply by √2/√2 --> this gets ride of the √2 in the denominator

x=6√2/4 --> simplify
