If someone could tell me the equation to set up the problem for me it would be great! My teacher didn’t go over how to solve it when the equation is on both sides. And if you could explain why would be totally amazing!

Answer:

3x + 3 = 54 degrees

x + 2 = 19 degrees

Explanation:

Since, both angles add up to 73 degrees, write these equation

X + 2 + 3x + 3 = 73

4x + 5 = 73

4x = 73 - 5

4x = 68

4x/4 = 68/4

x = 17

Substitute the value of x to x + 2 and 3x + 3

x + 2

17 + 2 = 19°

3x + 3

3(17) + 3

51 + 3 = 54°

Now add them

54 + 19 = 73°
