Bananas cost 1.50 per pound, and guavas cost 3.00 per pound. Kiran spends 12 on fruit for a breakfast his family is hosting. He buys b pounds of bananas and pounds of guavas. Here is your equation from Problem 4.1: 1.50b+3g=12 If he buys 4 pounds of bananas, how many pounds of guavas can he buy?

12=1.5b+3g
12=[1.5(4)]+3g
3g=12-[1.5x4]
G=12-6/3
G=2
