Answer:

1st number is 6

2nd number is 30

3rd number is 33

Explanation:

Let x be the first number.

The second of three numbers is 5 times the first = 5x

The third number is 3 more than the second = 5x + 3

If the second is decreased by twice the third, the result is -21.

Multiply the third number by 2.

2(5x + 3)

= 10x + 6

Subtract the second number to it.

(5x)-(10x + 6) = -21

-5x - 6 = -21

Use APE or Addition Property of Equality

-5x = -21 + 6

-5x = -15

Use DPE or Division Property of Equality to get the value of x

(-5x)/(-5) = (-15)/(-5)

x = 3

Now put the value of x in the equation

first number(x) = 6

second number(5x) = 5(6) = 30

third number(5x + 3)

5(6) + 3

30 + 3 = 33
