The distance formula between two points is

D=√(
x_(2) \\ -
x_(1\\))^2 + (
y_(2)-
y_(1))^2

Whereas

d is distance

So in this case

(-8, -1)

(-4, -9)

x2 is -4

x1 is -8

y2 is -9

y1 is -1

Now we plug them in

d= √(-4 + 8)^2 + (-9+1)^2

Now solve

it’s about

8.94427
