(3x)/(4) + 1 =
(x)/(2) +
(5)/(4)

Multiply through by 4 ( the LCM of 2 and 4 ) to clear the fractions

3x + 4 = 2x + 5 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

x + 4 = 5 ( subtract 4 from both sides )

x = 1
