Europe and the Americas benefited from the Columbian Exchange. We wouldn't have many of the modern conveniences we enjoy today if they hadn't been brought in from another continent. For instance, wheat was brought over from Europe. It wasn't long before people in the New World began cultivating their own crops to help their civilizations thrive under harsh weather conditions. They were able to feed themselves and keep warm by hunting and killing new animals. Without these transactions, many of the peoples of the Americas would not have been able to exist. However, Un survivable deaths were caused by several diseases.
