Volume of the prism will be the surface of one of the trapezoidal faces, time its depth.

Let's find the area of the base first: it's a prism, so it's the sum of bases, times the height, halved:


A = \frac12(B+b)h = \frac12 (5+3)*3 = \frac12*8*3 =12

We're almost there: we just have to multiply the result for the height of the prism - in our case the depth since it's laying on the side - and that's the volume


V= Az = 12*9 = 108
