Distribute

6 – 0.2x = 12 – 1.2x

Add 1.2x to each side

6 – 0.2x+1.2x = 12 – 1.2x+1.2x

6 +x = 12

Subtract 6 from each side

6+x-6 = 12 –6

x = 6
