\sf x-3=14

You have to move the -3 to the 14 which would give you 17 and since x is 1x you divide 17 by 1 which leaves you with x=17

Ik someone already answered this but i wanted to too even though it’s not a better explanation

Explanation:

Isolate the variable, x. Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other.

Add 3 to both sides of the equation:

x - 3 (+3) = 14 (+3)

x = 14 + 3

x = 17

x = 17 is your answer.
