On comparing to slope intercept form of the line ,

As we know that the product of slopes of two perpendicular lines is -1. Hence ,

  • m_perp = -2 .

Given point is (1,3) . Using point slope form ,

  • x - 1 = -2( y -3)
  • x -1 = -2y +6
  • x +2y -1 -6 = 0
  • x + 2y -7 = 0
