Solution:

perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( Length + Width )

  • a square has all sides of similar length. thus [ length = width ]

Find length/width:

2 (length + length) = 48

2(length) = 24

length = 12 cm

width = 12 cm

⇒ The dimensions of square: 12 x 12

If the square cut into half, the dimensions of either length or width will half.

Therefore, the perimeter of rectangle:

→ 2 (length + width)

→ 2 ( 12 + 6 )

→ 2 ( 18 )

→ 36 cm
