Problem 4 is correct.

You flip the y coordinate of point S from -4 to +4. The x coordinate stays the same.

Problem 5

Focus on the points W and X. Because the y coordinates are both 1, we subtract the x coordinates to get 4-1 = 3. The distance from W to X is 3 units. This is another way of saying segment WX is 3 units long. This applies to the preimage.

Then we're told the image has W'X' = 6 which is twice as long as WX = 3. Therefore, the scale factor is 2.

We can write it like this:

\text{scale factor} = \frac{\text{image length}}{\text{preimage length}} = (W'X')/(WX) = (6)/(3) = 2

This indicates that each side of W'X'Y'Z' is twice as long compared to each corresponding side of WXYZ.

Answer: 2
