Answer: Zuri Benitez, the main character in “Pride,” lives on a small street in Brooklyn. She’s known as ZZ and ZZ On the Block in her neighborhood. Her hood is absolutely perfect and everything she has ever wanted with parties and food offerings galore. Her group runs their block—until a wealthy family moves in across the street. They are going to change everything.

The family updates a run down house, turning it into a mansion for their very handsome young sons. Zuri doesn’t like how they are changing her little corner of heaven especially that one Darius boy who seems to rub her all the wrong ways.

She’ll try everything in her power to maintain her corner and keep her hood from changing. Zuri feels like she is the only one who cares about this because her sisters are falling for the boys and her parents have better things to do then worry about the new family. :)
