At 80°F, a certain insect chirps at a rate of 56 times per minute, and at 82°F, they chirp 68 times per minute. Write an equation in slope-intercept form that represents the situation.

Answer:

y=6x+9

Explanation:

we see that when we increase the temperature by 2 degrees, the chirp times per minute is increased by 6 for every increase in 1 degree

we also notice that the amount of times an insect chirps can not be negative, so when there are 0 chirps per second, it would be at 56/6 = around 9

so the equation modeling would be y=6x+9
